School Trouble.

The bell rang for lunch. I slowly picked up my bag and rushed out the classroom. Sonic was coming back from military school today, I didn't want to see him. He probably wouldn't want to see me either.

"Amy wait up" Cream shouted as she tried to shove past everyone else. I quickly stopped and waited for her to catch up. Her eyes were beginning to sag from the exhaustion of running after me. "Thank goodness you've slowed down" she gasped.  

I sighed and watched as everyone else hurried down the stairs to have a chance of seeing him. Within seconds the stairway was  jam-packed with people desperately trying to get outside. " I don't understand Cream, most of these people don't even know Sonic" I said quietly.

Cream smiled and said "Well he's really popular Amy, and seeing as downstairs is probably crowded we'll have to watch from up here". She quickly pushed the window open and peered out. Suddenly her eyes lit up and she said " Hey Amy, there he is". 

I went to the window and looked out. Just as Cream had said Sonic stood there with a huge mob surrounding him. My heart felt like it would jump out of my chest, was it really him? He looked taller than when I'd last seen him but apart from that he was still Sonic. My Sonic.

"Hey Mr Sonic" Cream suddenly shouted from the window.  

Before I had a chance to get out of view he looked up at us. "Hey Cream" he shouted as he waved to her. He then averted his eyes towards me and paused. "Hey Ames"...  I quickly went away from the window . 

"Cream I'm going.." I said as I turned to go. 

"I don't get you Amy, you've liked Sonic ever since I can remember. Why don't you want to see him?" Cream asked. 

"Well maybe I don't care about him anymore" I yelled as I ran down the stairway. I could hear Cream calling me but I ignored it because under all of the anger she was right. I ran for a while until I stopped and sat down on the bottom step of the ground floor. My head was banging and I felt like a heavy weight had been placed on my shoulders; and it was slowly crushing me. 

"Hey Amy" Someone said from behind me. 

I slightly turned my head to see who was speaking. "Oh. Hi Knuckles" I said.  

He looked puzzlingly at me. "You do know Sonic is back right?" he asked as he sat down next to me on the step. 

"Yeah I know alright" I said quietly.

Knuckles looked at me for a while and then he said "You know Sonic doesn't really care about any of the people down there to be honest Amy. None of them are his real friends". When he realised that I wasn't going to respond he said "Ok then. I'll catch up with you later".

I watched as he got up and went through the door that lead to the outside."Maybe your right Knuckles.." I said to myself confessingly after he'd left. "But its not like he didn't have a phone at military school, he should of called". After thinking about it for a while I plucked up the courage to confront him.  

I got up and walked over to the door, just as I began to reach for the door handle, it opened. "Well who do we have here?" Scourge laughed. He wore a black leather jacket and had black and red sunglasses perched upon his head.  

I sighed and said "Just let me go past Scourge". 

He laughed hysterically and began to walk towards me. "Are you being difficult Amy, I hope your not" he said dieing of laughter. I was soon forced into a corner with no way to get around him. "We both know how this will end" he said slyly.

"Scourge!" a familiar voice shouted. Scourge and I turned our heads in unison.

"Great. The blue guy shows up" Scourge said under his breath. He gritted his teeth in silent fury and glanced back at me. "This isn't over".. Then he quickly opened the door and slipped out; leaving us alone.
 
Sonic slid down the railing and landed in front of me. " According to Cream you've been avoiding me" he said cheekily. "What's wrong?".
